Gyeonggi Province announced on the 20th that it has prepared 45 incentives for companies participating in “Industrial Complex RE100.”
Gyeonggi Province is pushing for the “Industrial Complex RE100” project to effectively respond to the implementation of RE100, which covers 100% of the electricity used by companies in the province with renewable energy.
‘Industrial Complex RE100’ is a project to install solar power facilities on factory roofs or idle sites and supply renewable energy from them to factories and external companies in the complex.
In order to ease the burden of installing renewable energy by tenant companies in the industrial complex, the province selected a total of eight investors in July last year through a public offering: △SK E&S △ LS Electric △ ISOLA Energy, Enlighton △ Korea East-West Power △ Shinseong ENG △ EnelX Korea, Korea Central Power △ DL Energy, Samchully Asset Management △ KC Solar & Energy.
If a company located in Gyeonggi-do installs solar power through an investment company under the agreement, the province will issue a “certificate of companies participating in RE100 industrial complexes” and provide incentives.
After reporting the construction plan, participating companies can obtain a “certification letter for companies participating in RE100 industrial complexes.” Among the 45 projects, if you submit an application and confirmation to the relevant department during the desired business competition, you can first receive selection or additional benefits. Applications for corporate support projects can be made without a confirmation.
Incentives are 45 projects, including energy diagnosis and efficiency improvement support projects, renewable energy installation loans, etc., △ supporting the introduction of ESG management △ supporting energy diagnosis and facility improvement △ domestic/foreign marketing and sales support.
Gyeonggi-do Province is the first local government in the country to link the industrial complex solar project with the support project for small and medium-sized enterprises. This is because responding to the climate crisis is an important task for companies in the province. According to the Gyeonggi Research Institute, more than half of companies in the province have received requests from customers to implement RE100 and ESG.
Companies wishing to participate in the project should contact the RE100 one-stop counseling center of Gyeonggi-do Province. The confirmation of companies participating in RE100 in industrial complexes is issued through the Gyeonggi Environment and Energy Agency.
“Companies participating in RE100 industrial complexes this year can be applied retroactively in more programs in 2025, so we hope that companies considering installing renewable energy will actively participate,” said Kim Yeon-ji, head of the energy industry division in Gyeonggi Province.
