BHUBANESWAR: The capital city is set to become a ‘Green Energy and Solar City’ under the Green City Mission. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has selected Bhubaneswar for complete transformation, with plans for solar power integration of street lights, installation of solar trees at religious and cultural sites, and rooftop solar projects on government and residential buildings. A ‘Sustainable Initiatives Cell’ will ensure smooth coordination for the implementation of the initiative.
